About us

Our company, Mayday, is one of the fastest growing accounting-tech startups on the planet. We’re building automation tools and artificial intelligence to save finance teams from the pain of manual work. We’re hyper ambitious with a huge long term vision. We will mend month-end and enable real-time accounting.

Mayday was founded by two experienced entrepreneurs – David Tuck, an accountant then CFO by training who founded Chaser; and James Scott-Griffin, a software engineer who was CTO at Idio (now Optimizely) and Rungway.

We’re three years into our journey. We’ve got an amazing team of ten already in place, based in the UK, Australia and South Africa. We have an incredible foundation for growth in 2025 and beyond.

David has spoken extensively about our journey on his build-in-public blog, Starting Up Again. Our values (with the link to the relevant post explaining each) are: Delight, Ownership, Curiosity, Boldness and Balance.

You’d be joining at a time when we already have strong growth in customer numbers and revenue. We have ambitious plans and an incredible position of category leadership from which to grow. Our customers are huge advocates for our product – we’re proud to have over 260 reviews at a perfect 5 star rating on Xero’s App Store (and growing!). We won Xero’s Emerging App Partner of the Year Award for 2023. We have pre-seed investment from A* backers. We have such an exciting journey ahead of us.

About the role

We’ve had an incredible three years, growing MRR by 13x over the last 18 months. With product-market fit well-established, we’re doubling down on our most proven growth levers: events, partnerships, and community.

This role is designed for someone early in their career (6 months–2 years experience), who is hungry to build hands-on experience across a variety of B2B marketing areas, especially events, webinars, partnerships and community-led growth.

You’ll report into the Head of Marketing and work as part of a lean team of two, with the opportunity to own meaningful projects from day one. If you’re curious, driven, and excited to contribute to a fast-growing SaaS business, this is a brilliant entry point into B2B marketing.

This will be a hybrid role, with 2-3 days a week expected in the London office.

What you’ll be doing

Over the last year, we’ve seen strong growth from our events, partnerships, and community-led efforts. We’ve hosted two flagship events (Stacked) sponsored by Xero and GoCardless, launched multiple webinar series with 1,000+ registrants, and organically grown our CFO TechStack community to over 5,000 engaged finance professionals.

Your role will first focus on executing and expanding these channels, while also playing a supporting role on wider marketing projects.

Your top priorities:

1. Events & Webinar Execution

  • Take ownership of planning and delivering Mayday events and webinars, from logistics, to hosting, to follow-up
  • Work closely with the Head of Marketing to scale repeatable playbooks
  • Represent Mayday confidently in customer and partner-facing interactions

2. Partnership & Ecosystem Marketing

  • Support on marketing initiatives with Xero-connected apps and accountancy firms
  • Help coordinate co-marketing campaigns, speaker management, and follow-ups
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with our partner network

3. Marketing Collateral and Campaign Support

  • Repurpose event and webinar content into high-quality evergreen assets like ebooks and guides
  • Support with creation and delivery of marketing materials across the funnel, including newsletters, product launch communications, and landing pages

4. Growth Experiments & Ownership (6-12 months in)

  • Take the lead on our Partnerships, Events & Community strategy within 12 months
  • In parallel, you’ll have space to pitch and run your own growth experiments across the marketing funnel, whether it be across product marketing, brand marketing or demand generation.

Your experience and skills

We don’t expect you to know everything from day one, but we’re looking for someone with a strong foundation, and the confidence to take ownership quickly.

You’ll likely have:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • 6 months – 2 years of commercial experience
  • Direct marketing experience (e.g. internship or full-time role), or demonstrable transferable skills from another commercial environment (e.g. sales, consulting, VC/startup ops)
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, high-growth setting, either professionally or through side projects/student initiatives
  • A self-starter attitude with strong attention to detail and follow-through

Not sure you have enough experience? Shoot through your application and let us be the judge! You miss 100% of the shots you don't take :)

Key details

  • Salary starting £30k - £50k (depending on experience)
  • Share options
  • 25 days holiday + public holidays
  • Hybrid Role (comfortable working 2-3 days a week in person in Central London)
  • Learning time baked into your day
  • Work with lovely and experienced humans who love puns
