One of the team's standout implementations this year was Wellizen, a health and wellness distributor operating across Australia and New Zealand. The business had just six weeks to move off a locked NetSuite instance, with no option for a phased rollout. Beyond the technical challenge, the transition required a shift in how the team thought about its systems and processes, from managing everything in one place to working across a connected stack.

The impact

For Wellizen, one of the biggest gains has been stock visibility, with a clearer view of finished goods, production and assembly, and stock while it's in transit. Fulfilment is also connected via API, creating a much more joined-up process across the business.

B2B invoicing has changed too. A customer buying across three different brands can now receive a single invoice, while the revenue is split correctly between those brands behind the scenes. And Wellizen has since come back to SMB Consultants for a third database, extending the approach further.

The Stack

Xero for Core Accounting

Xero replaced NetSuite as the financial foundation of the new architecture, with separate Australian and New Zealand instances providing the core accounting layer for each market. Rather than putting the complexity of the business into another single ERP, the new setup gives each operation greater independence while maintaining financial visibility across the group.

Mayday for Intercompany

Mayday connects the Australian and New Zealand finance operations, providing the automated intercompany layer between the Xero entities. Paired with a tag-based architecture in Xero, it automatically reallocates revenue and cost of goods sold and applies the required service fee logic between entities. The result has been an 80% reduction in month-end reconciliation work.

Cin7 Core for Inventory and Order Management

Separate Cin7 Core instances for Australia and New Zealand sit at the centre of Wellizen's inventory and order management. The setup connects demand from Shopify and Amazon with the appropriate operations, warehouse and finance systems, replacing processes that previously relied heavily on manual re-keying.

CartonCloud for 3PL and Warehouse Automation

CartonCloud connects Wellizen's third-party logistics providers with Cin7 Core in both markets, with EWE 3PL in Australia and BIS 3PL in New Zealand connected through two-way fulfilment sync. This helps keep inventory and fulfilment information aligned as orders move through the business.

Shopify for E-commerce

Shopify is one of the key demand channels feeding the new architecture. Orders flow directly into Cin7 Core, removing the need for the manual re-keying that formed part of Wellizen's previous process and creating a more automated flow from online order through to warehouse fulfilment.

Amazon for E-commerce

Amazon orders also feed into Cin7 Core as part of the new architecture, bringing marketplace demand into the same inventory and operational workflow rather than requiring Finance and Operations to process orders manually.
