How I Stacked It
Every finance stack tells a story. How I Stacked It looks inside the tools, workflows and decisions real finance leaders use to build better, more scalable finance teams.
Khalid Ahmed is CFO at EncompaaS, an enterprise AI data platform that helps the world’s most regulated organisations govern, prepare and enrich their data for the AI era. He’s also this year’s winner of Community Contributor of the Year at the 2026 CFO Techstack Awards, and has been spotlighted in this Xero customer story.
As CFO, Khalid is responsible for the global finance function which includes 4 entities across Australia, USA and the UK. Being a Public and high-growth global SaaS business means, his team needs to be handle intercompany reconciliations, FP&A and deferred revenue (among other challenges) across multiple entities in the group at speed and with a high level of accuracy. He’s back with an updated stack, showing what’s changed since his last feature.
The Stack
Mayday for Month End Automation
Mayday handles intercompany reconciliations across the group’s four entities, including six intercompany loans. Since the stack was last shared, we’ve also started using Mayday for prepayments and deferred revenue, which connect directly with Xero for month-end journals.

Harvest for Project Management
Harvest tracks both client and internal projects. It was carried over from a former consulting business in the group and is still a must-have.
XPNA for FP&A
xpna now runs FP&A, replacing Mosaic. Khalid finds it more dynamic, more intuitive and much cheaper for their needs.

Xero for General Ledger
Xero is the financial backbone and single source of truth across every entity.

Microsoft Co-Pilot for Research & Analysis
Copilot plugs into enterprise data for research, analysis and qualitative decision support.

Claude for Modelling & Reporting
Claude builds models, automates reporting and acts as an extra analyst for a small team.
Easy Month End for Close Management
EasyMonthEnd gives the team a single dashboard view of critical finance workloads at month-end. It sets out the full monthly checklist, so everyone knows who needs to do what and when it’s due, giving the team visibility they didn’t have before.
