Launching: App Feature Comparison on the App Map

Today we're launching feature comparison on the CFO Techstack App Map. You can now compare apps side by side on the features that matter most in their category, starting with Spend Management & Accounts Payable.

Why feature comparison?

The App Map shows you what finance leaders in this community actually use, built from How I Stacked It rather than from who pays to be there. Once you've got a shortlist, though, the next question is harder: which of these does what I need?

That's usually where the legwork starts, and as one member of the CFO Techstack community shared with us “it’s a big process. You’ve got to research, then trial, then compare”. If pricing pages all tick the same boxes, demos show the best path through the product, you’ll be waiting to see the differences that matter during a trial or after you've signed. 

The same finance leader commented that “it would be helpful to have a comparison table across multiple apps” so, that’s exactly what feature comparison does. It puts the details you need to know about side by side for you so you can dig into the important criteria earlier.

How does it work?

With the community's help, we’ve picked the most critical features to show the key similarities and differences for each category. Apps are invited to provide the information that fits into each criteria however, the CFO Techstack team also verifies this against their help centre and product pages to confirm accuracy.

What does this mean when selecting apps?

1. A quicker route to a shortlist of apps. You’ll be able to immediately identify which apps meet your requirements
2. Better trials. You’ll go in knowing which apps to test and which features to look for
3. Less time spent researching apps with the same set of criteria

How does it fit with App Certification?

App certification, launched earlier this month, tells you whether an app meets the bar on security, scale and integration, assessed by our team. Feature comparison tells you which app does what you need. Look out for the certified tick on apps in the comparison too.

Click on “compare apps” in the Spend Management & Accounts Payable category of the App Map.
