Growth Marketing Executive
About Mayday
At Mayday, we're on a mission to mend month end. We build accounting software powered by automation and AI to eliminate the tedious, spreadsheet-based work that consumes in-house finance teams every month. By automating complex month-end processes, we help finance teams close faster and spend more time adding value.
We've established ourselves as category leaders, reflected in our strategic partnership with Xero and winning Xero's Global People's Choice Award ahead of more than 1,200 connected solutions.
Our team spans the UK, Australia and South Africa, with the UK and Australia as our largest markets. We’re founded by experienced entrepreneurs in David Tuck (ex-CFO and founder of Chaser) and James Scott-Griffin (former CTO at Idio/Optimizely and Rungway). Backed by elite investors, we’re doubling the team to 24 as we accelerate the next phase of growth.
The Role
We're looking for a Growth Marketing Executive to help us grow Mayday and CFO Techstack. This role is for someone with a solid foundation in marketing who's ready to make a real impact in a small, growing team.
You'll play a hands-on role across almost every area of marketing, from delivering campaigns and growing our audience to identifying opportunities for improvement and making sure everything we do is delivered to a consistently high standard.
Growth is the priority, but growth doesn't just mean paid advertising. We're looking for someone who understands that sustainable growth comes from a combination of great content, strong distribution, digital PR, email marketing, partnerships, community, events and continuous experimentation.
This is a varied role with genuine ownership. You'll own key marketing channels including our newsletter and social media, contribute to new growth initiatives, coordinate campaigns across the business and use data to understand what's working and where we can improve.
You'll be joining a small team where you'll have the opportunity to work across a broad range of marketing activity. You'll have support and guidance from experienced senior marketers, but you'll also be trusted to use your judgement, contribute ideas and get things done.
Growth Marketing
- Support the planning and delivery of growth initiatives across multiple acquisition channels.
- Identify opportunities to grow our audience, increase brand awareness and strengthen our customer pipeline.
- Monitor campaign performance, reporting on results and recommending improvements based on data.
- Contribute ideas for experiments, partnerships and new growth initiatives.
- Support paid campaigns alongside wider organic growth activity where appropriate.
Content & Social
- Support the planning and delivery of content across CFO Techstack.
- Support activity across our social channels.
- Edit short-form video content for LinkedIn and YouTube.
- Produce simple marketing assets using Figma.
SEO/GEO and Web Content
- Support the creation of landing pages and other website content.
- Carry out keyword research to help optimise content for search and AI discovery.
- Monitor content performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
Digital PR
- Monitor industry news and identify opportunities to secure media coverage.
- Work with PR partners on press releases and outreach.
- Build relationships with journalists, podcast hosts and industry publications.
Email Marketing & CRM
- Build and schedule email campaigns.
- Segment audiences to improve campaign performance.
- Report on campaign performance and recommend improvements based on data.
Events
- Support the planning and delivery of webinars, conferences and industry events.
- Coordinate event marketing assets and communications.
- Research opportunities for Mayday to attend or sponsor relevant events.
Marketing Operations
- Keep marketing projects organised and moving forward.
- Coordinate activity across multiple workstreams and stakeholders.
- Support reporting on marketing performance and key business metrics.
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve processes and help the team work more effectively.
About You
You're naturally curious, commercially minded and excited by the opportunity to help grow a fast-moving B2B SaaS business.
You'll already have experience across several marketing channels and be ready to take on more ownership. This role will suit someone who enjoys variety, likes solving problems and is comfortable contributing ideas while delivering high-quality execution.
We don't expect the successful candidate to tick every box, but you'll have experience across many of these areas and be keen to continue developing your skills.
You'll ideally have:
- 2 to 4 years' experience in a marketing or growth marketing role.
- Experience working in a B2B SaaS business. This is essential.
- Experience in a startup or high-growth business would be a significant advantage.
- Experience in fintech, accounting technology or the wider finance sector would be beneficial.
- Hands-on experience managing paid campaigns across platforms such as LinkedIn and Google Ads.
- Experience across email marketing, social media, content marketing and campaign delivery.
- Experience using a range of marketing tools, with the ability to quickly learn new platforms where needed.
- Strong analytical skills and confidence using data to improve marketing performance.
- Excellent written communication skills and a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Confidence taking ownership of your work and seeing projects through from start to finish.
Working at Mayday
We're a small team, so this isn't a role where you'll focus on a single marketing channel or hand work off to multiple specialist teams. You'll work across a broad range of marketing activity and be trusted to get things done.
That means being comfortable switching between planning a campaign, writing an email, reviewing performance, coordinating with external partners and helping deliver a webinar, all within the same week.
We're looking for someone who enjoys that variety and is excited by the opportunity to make a meaningful impact across the business. You'll have support and guidance throughout, but you'll also be trusted to use your judgement, take ownership and contribute ideas.
We currently work together in the office one day a week to collaborate, plan and catch up as a team. As Mayday continues to grow, we expect this to increase to two days a week over time.
The Details
- Salary £40-45k depending on skills and experience;
- Share options from day 1;
- 25 days’ paid holiday, plus public holidays;
- 1-2 days a week (including Fridays) in person in Central London. We will provide co-working membership for the remaining days if needed;
- The global nature of the team plus time differences mean that some degree of early morning or evening calls is unavoidable. We will make sure the weight of those is borne evenly between you and the relevant Australian / South African team members.
